What are the differences between thermocouple wire and other wires ?
December 12, 2022
The thermocouple
compensating wire is used for thermocouple extension which serves as the signal
compensation during the thermocouple signal transmission and helps make
temperature measurement accurate. On contrary, a normal wire can only transmit
voltage and current.
Because of the
low cost, the wide range of temperature measurement capability (especially in
high temperature measurement e.g. K thermocouple can measure the temperature of
over 1000 ℃), as well as the diversity of
thermocouple, it becomes the most widely used temperature sensor in the
industrial sites. The thermocouple temperature measurement system consists of
the temperature thermocouple, the corresponding compensating wire, the
display/control panel, the PLC system as well as the DCS system. In the
thermocouple circuit, after applying the compensating wire, the thermocouple
electric potential value is only related to the measured temperature as well as
the temperature of the connection point between the compensation wire and the
display/control panel. The thermocouple compensating wire is used to extend the
hot electrode (i.e., moving the thermocouple reference end) and also save the
cost of thermocouple materials.
In order to
fully exploit the advantages of thermocouple compensating wires, we need to
understand its operation principle, function, applying method as well as some
other aspects that need special attention. To properly use the thermocouple
compensating wire, the technician needs to understand the operation principle
of the thermocouple as well as the compensating wire.Alsothey are
requiredto have work ethic and a strong sense of
responsibility. In industrial production, the thermocouple as the temperature
sensor is widely used in the temperature measurement and control, thus people
are very familiar with it. However, using it without proper method, big
deviation of temperature measurement and control could occur which might even
lead to serious economic losses. In summary, we need to avoid the error
mentioned above in order to ensure the accuracy of the thermocouple temperature
measurement. welcome to get more details at www.super-instrument.com.
